Is It Luck?

It has been a while since a blog has been posted and if I said there are no excuses, I would be lying.  The excuses are numerous, but I won't bother you with them. Busyness has gotten the best of me.

When it comes to Thoroughbreds and racing, there are so many factors that bring success and I believe that "luck" is not one of them.  The hardships and difficulties we have faced this year are not attributed to "luck" or coincidence.  They are solely a matter of circumstance and choices.  We even had a jockey decide not to ride for us because of luck.  Really?  I often second guess our decisions in business and wonder what could have been done differently to warrant a different result.  Well, when it comes to the truth, we make decisions and some are not the best decisions and have catastrophic results.  Sometimes, poor decisions (or so one may think) result in promising or successful results.  It is all a big unknown!  I do know one thing for sure and that is the truth stated in God's word (Romans 8:28) that "God causes all things to work together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose". So, we do the best we can with our resources, pray for guidance and discernment in our decision making and keep on pressing on by keeping our eyes fixed on the kingdom of God while living in a fallen world.
